Measures by ITB Berlin to Minimize Effects of Local Transport Strike

There’s no need to panic. Following the announcement of a warning strike due to begin on Wednesday, 5 March, affecting public transport in Berlin, such as the U-Bahn (underground), buses and trams, and possibly German airports too, the ITB Berlin has already taken various measures to minimize the impact of the strike on visitors attending the world’s leading travel trade show.

An information ticker is already in operation on the home page of the ITB Berlin website suggesting alternative travel arrangements.

A free bus shuttle has also been set up by the ITB Berlin to and from the car park at the Olympic Stadium. Visitors to the ITB Berlin can park here and get to the Exhibition Grounds without delay.

The ITB Berlin also advises passengers arriving on domestic and foreign flights to use other forms of transport such as the railways or car rental services. Important information for all visitors whose arrival at the ITB Berlin may be delayed as a result of the strike: as an alternative, trade visitors can make use of the Saturday and Sunday, 8 and 9 March, for their discussions.
