Mind-Blowing MORPHotel Concept Could Change Hotels, Cruising Forever

The concept of a floating hotel is nothing new. However designer Gianluca Santosuosso's MORPHotel is unlike anything you've ever seen before.

Instead of building a hotel on a ship or constructing a bouyant single room or suite, the structure would consist of multiple floating hotel rooms as well as luxury amenities travelers are accustomed to experiencing on dry land.

The design even features a helipad so guests can access the hotel regardless of where it is in the world.

Despite boasting impressive features like a swimming pool, restaurants, theaters and gardens, MORPHotel would be a self-sufficient property, collecting energy from the sun and waves.

Interestingly, Santosuosso told the Daily Mail that it was time that inspired his unique hotel concept.

"When I started to think about the project I first wondered to myself what the most luxurious thing we have is? The answer was time. From this came the idea, and then concept, of this never ending travel across the world without a precise destination, without hurry."

Modeled after a spine, the structure's capsules feature plenty of windows and skylights allowing for tons of natural light to pour in.

Nonetheless, it's the ability to stay while you travel that truly sets the design apart.

"I believe the idea of the journey itself, without a precise destination, is a dream shared among most people," said Santosuosso. "This is the reason why this project, the idea behind it, raised the interest of many people, especially in the hospitality industry."

While Santosuosso's concept may seem somewhat far-fetched, it shouldn't be counted out.

"I had few contacts with possible developers interested in the project and I am quite confident that nowadays, with the right technologies, (it) would be possible to build something following the concept of MORPHotel," he told the Daily Mail.

Although there are significant obstacles that must be cleared, there's no denying the allure of MORPHotel or any other hotel that could take travelers around the world while they sleep.
