Cruise line NCL will place three of its newest Jewel-class ships in Europe beginning in March 2008. This is the response to the positive reaction of European consumers in respect to the innovative Freestyle Cruising concept of the cruise line.

Offering NCL’s largest and most varied European deployment ever, the company prepares for further growth on the Continental European market in 2008. The new-built Norwegian Gem will offer an extended season in the Western Mediterranean with cruises from/to Barcelona while Norwegian Jewel will be the first modern NCL cruise resort (built in 2005) to sail the Baltic Sea.

Additionally, Pride of Hawaii will be re-flagged into Bahamas registry and renamed Norwegian Jade after a short wet dock in Honolulu in February 2008 and will join her sister ships in Europe. Innovations of the cruise calendar 2008 include cruises towards Norway, up to the North Cape and around the British Isles.

Norwegian Gem, NCL’s newest ship which will already sail in Europe this season on eight inaugural cruises as of October 2007, will arrive back in Europe in early May 2008, after her winter season in New York.
