The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will hold its 54 annual conference in Macau on April 17 through 21 to address the holistic approach of interconnectivity and its impact on the travel and tourism industry in a fickle global scene.

PATA believes that a stronger and more united global travel and tourism industry needs interconnectivity to thrive and survive the constantly changing economic, political and social conditions of the world.

Along with prospects of new demands and changes in the industry, the conference has embraced the concept of total tourism — the entirety of domestic, intraregional, inter-regional, inbound and outbound flows of travel – that underpins all of the industry stakeholders´ strategic thinking.

PATA is composed of public and private-sector member organizations who inform, sell, transport, guide or host.

To further explore directly and indirectly the upshots of total tourism on various trades, the PATA conference presents an extensive program of educational sessions and workshops to be participated in by top-caliber speakers.

Participants will get, too, new insights on subjects such as the relationship between the movies and tourism, health issues and the role of architecture.

Also on the discussion agenda are the mega-events, aviation challenges, youth travel, sustainable tourism and the growing relationship with the media.
