Queen Mary II Pays First of Five Calls to St. Kitts
The majestic 150,000-ton Queen Mary II, with 2,464 passengers and 1,295 crew onboard, made its first of five stops in St. Kitts for the 2005/2006 cruise ship season last week.
The world´s largest and most expensive cruise liner docked at Port Zante from New York.
Several business places opened Sunday to allow the passengers who disembarked to shop and eat local cuisine, while others went on sight-seeing tours via taxis and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, sun and sea-bathing, hiking, horse-back riding, snorkeling, golfing, kayaking and sailing.
The Queen Mary 2, which arrived from Grenada, left for St. Thomas before returning to the Big Apple. Other calls scheduled for St. Kitts are on December 16 and 24, January 19 and April 11.
