On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Santiago de Cuba village, to be celebrated in July, they will join 4-star hotels Casa Granda and San Basilio, managed by Cubanacán.

Four-story Imperial Hotel, located in the corner of Enramadas and Santo Tomas streets, has been closed for nearly two decades and it stands out due to the eclectic-styled architecture.

Every single person that passes by is attracted by the decorative elements of the building’s balconies, such as pilasters, pediments, arches and other classic aspect that beautify the façade.

Marisol Rodriguez, Delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in the province told AIN that Imperial Hotel will be the second facility under Encanto brand in this city, as San Basilio Hotel, in the same street, is the first one. The hotel is going to feature 39 rooms, 36 standard and 3 suites.

The first floor will house public, commercial, gastronomic and administrative areas; the other three levels will have the rooms and a snack- bar viewpoint is going to be based on the roof, with excellent view of the commercial street.

Right one block up, Gran Hotel stands in the corner with San Felix, where Bayamo Hotel was based, a school hotel that was managed by Formatur and Islazul through January 2015.

The building’s three floors with include over 40 rooms, an area for breakfast and other service spaces.

The province presently totals 1,549 rooms, a figure that will grow with these two projects and Punta Gorda Hotel, located in the coast of Santiago’s bay and linked to Marlin marina.

Within the framework of the village’s birthday, the hotel infrastructure is being refurbished and improved so as to offer visitors new attractions.
