Sabre Reports Third-Quarter Results, Posts $700 Million in Revenue

Sabre has reported US$700 million in revenues as per its third quarter financial results. The revenue managed during the quarter was up 29 percent year-over-year.

“Across our portfolio, we delivered excellent revenue and earnings results in the third quarter,” said Sam Gilliland, chairman and chief executive officer, Sabre Holdings.

Lastminute.com added $100 million in revenue during the quarter following its acquisition on July 20. Excluding lastminute.com, revenue for the third quarter increased 10 percent year-over-year.

Excluding adjusting items, operating income for the third quarter was $112 million, compared to $90 million in the year-ago quarter. For the third quarter, net earnings, excluding adjusting items, were $65 million, or $0.50 per share, compared to $56 million, or $0.41 per share in the third quarter of 2004.

For the third quarter, Travelocity global gross travel booked was $2.1 billion, an increase of 76 percent year-over-year, or 34 percent excluding lastminute.com. Total global revenue for the quarter was $276 million, year-over-year growth of 98 percent, to which lastminute.com contributed $100 million.
