Silversea Cruises is installing WiFi hotspots around its four ships and revamping its Internet centers with 17-inch flat-screen monitors and new computers.

The “enhanced cyber technology”, as Silversea called it, was installed on the Silver Shadow in August and will be installed onboard Silversea´s three other ships by the end of the year. Maritime Telecommunications Network is providing the satellite technology.

Silversea said passengers who bring their own wireless-enabled laptops can access the Internet in the ships´ forward observation lounge, the library, the card room and the conference room.

In addition, passengers will have access to 270 daily newspapers from around the world for a "nominal fee," as well as access to the Fox News channel on the in-suite TVs.
