Spanish Company DelSoto Unveils its Products at the Meliá Habana Hotel

Within the framework of Excelencias Gourmet International Gastronomic Seminar - organized by the Excelencias Group -, Spanish DelSoto company, which produces, cans and distributes high-quality food, showed part of its wide range of products in the halls of the Meliá Habana Hotel, with the presence of Cuba-based buyers from hotel and extra-hotel companies.

The display, headed by Mrs. Sandra Menéndez Castro, the company’s International Market Consultant, included tasting products with exquisite quality, texture and flavor, produced by means of complex processes and beef, pork, the exclusive deer meat, wild boar and its specialty: ostrich, which is described as the healthiest meat on Earth since it is a completely cholesterol-free protein.

DelSoto company, a mainly-familiar firm with some associates, distributes its products throughout Europe, especially in Switzerland where its products are so coveted that it is the target market of most of the company’s ostrich meat; a significant part of Africa and some American like Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic and Cuba.

DelSoto’s products, which include the milk ones – different types of cheese, yogurts, milk, shakes -, meats, cold meats with fascinating taste and such canned food as pate, tuna, vegetables, mussels, etc., are processed by following high-quality standards and proper health regulations. Some of its products feature an added value, since they must not be kept in low temperatures because they are long-lasting.

The Spanish company has been developing market relations with Cuba for two years, this is its second presentation on the Island and they have inked important contracts with ITH, Meliá (Cubacán and Miramar), TRD, Cimex, among others.

The presentation was attended by several officials from different entities, such as Francisco Camps, President of Meliá Hotels for, Rodolfo Dávalos, Director of the mixed company Meliá- Cubanacán, Bernard Meyer, director of Meliá Las Américas Hotel, Juanjo Navarro, A+B and Iván Quiñones, General Deputy Director, both from Meliá Habana, Enrique Muñiz and Orlando Mir, from Cuban Cubanacan’s Buy Department, Leonardo Cabrera, from the Imports & Exports Group of Cuba’s Ministry of Agriculture, executives from Meliá Cuba, Juan Carlos López and Narciso Sotolongo; and marketing agents with Meliá, cultural boldface names, organizers of Leo Brower Festival, visitors, chefs, sommeliers and gastronomic waiters, who extolled the exclusivity of DelSoto’s products and enjoyed their distinguished nature.
