The International Travel Partners Conference (ITPC) brought top buyers and sellers to Grand Bahama Island.

The conference, which came to a close on May 3 in Grand Bahama, was held at Westin & Sheraton at Our Lucaya Resort in Grand Bahama.

The conference resulted in high-volume business for the Bahamas, according to a press statement from The Ministry of Tourism in Grand Bahama.

Terrance Roberts, director of business development for the Ministry of Tourism in Grand Bahama said that ITPC is quite distinct from the many other conferences and tradeshows in the travel industry.

“Only a select group of travel buyers and suppliers attend the event, giving them a chance to build new relationships and strengthen old ones,” Mr. Roberts said.

Mr. Roberts said international registration was conducted for the conference from strategic offices in North America and Europe.

Master Classes were arranged and organizers met their goal of strengthening the skill and increasing the knowledge of industry professionals.

Topics included Power Branding, Crisis Communications, and Information Management Technology.

Information Management Technology covered the value of quantitative data gleaned from Bahamas immigration cards and their impact on smart marketing decisions.

Under the topic, Crisis Communications, delegates examined case studies of emergency response and relief in a major catastrophe.

The topic also covered how to deal with the outbreak of localized food poisoning at a property and how to contain crime and its potential impact on tourist arrivals.
