UNWTO, Azerbaijan Tourism Association Signed Memorandum of Understanding

Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTa) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) signed memorandum of understanding.
According to Nahid Bagirov, Head of AzTa, the memorandum was signed within the framework of the largest international tourism exhibition ITB Berlin 2014 being held on March 5-9 in Berlin.
“The signed memorandum of understanding is targeted at establishment of cooperation and providing consultations for all issues the parties are interested in, including the issues of price policy in tourism, as well as joint activity in improvement of service quality and certification standards for tourism industry”, Bagirov said.
Memorandum of understanding was signed by Nahid Bagirov, Head of AzTa, and Taleb Rifai, UNWTO General Secretary. In accordance with the memorandum, the projects on forming price policy in tourism, as well as in other economy sectors and on creation of new touristic products will be implemented in Azerbaijan under UNWTO support.
The parties also agreed on cooperation in research and implementation of a special certification program for travel companies and tour operators acting in Azerbaijan.
