Virgin Atlantic Pledges Aid to Jamaica after Hurricane Dean
Virgin Atlantic flew thousands of food packs and blankets to Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Dean. Virgin Atlantic was the first UK airline to fly to Montego Bay, in the north of the Caribbean island, since the hurricane affected the region and closed the country’s two main airports.
The food packs, containing items including fresh water, biscuits, fresh fruit, and health bars will be distributed through local agencies in the Montego Bay area. The agencies will also distribute blankets to those without power or shelter.
