Volaris Begins Flights to Guatemala

Volaris, the ultra-low-cost Mexican airline with the most extensive route network servicing Mexico and the US, announced today the inauguration of two new flights to Guatemala City from Cancun, Quintana Roo and Guadalajara, Jalisco as part of the carrier's international expansion plans.

"Guatemala becomes our first incursion into the Central American market," said Volaris CEO, Enrique Beltranena. "This is how we underscore our carrier's solid growth and our ongoing commitment to our Customers, of providing the best air connectivity at the lowest fares in the market."

"We detected a great opportunity in the Central American market to expand air connectivity to and from Mexico, at very low fares and the youngest fleet in the Americas, made up of 53 Airbus A320s," Beltranena added.

The new services become one of the 40 destinations operated by Volaris from Guadalajara, and one of the 18 operated from Cancun, two airports where Volaris continues to consolidate their presence to provide wider connectivity enabling more Customers to travel well. "Now, those who travel from Guadalajara and Cancun can be that much closer to the magic of Guatemala, best known for being the heart of the Mayan civilization, at clean and clear fares," said Beltranena.

Volaris flights to Central America are an example of the carrier's intensive expansion plan. In less than 4 years, the airline has doubled the number of routes it operates and today Volaris is the Mexican airline with the widest route network in Mexico and the US, operating 240 daily flights to 62 destinations: 39 in Mexico, 21 in the US, and 2 in Central America.
