British Midland, the second largest airline at London's Heathrow airport, on Friday announced it acquired British Airways franchise airline British Mediterranean. CEO David Richardson will retain his position and report British Midland CEO Nigel Turner.

Best Western finished the fiscal year with 4,164 hotels in 80 countries and territories, including 2,395 hotels in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, and 1,769 hotels internationally.

LIAT and Caribbean Star took another major step in their ongoing merger with the publication of the combined flight schedule of both carriers, which took effect February 1.
