Tourists and cruisers are watching closely as Puerto Rico recovers from the effects of Hurricane Maria, and the cruise industry is providing regular updates on the status of infrastructure and amenities on the island.

The port's Quinquela Martín terminal, in the heart of the city, has expanded and can handle up to 13,000 passengers daily, sailing to destinations such as Puerto Madryn in Patagonia and Ushuaia in the Tierra del Fuego archipelago.

Disney Cruise Line announced its plans to increase its presence in America’s Finest City for early 2019. The brand is also recommitting to the Caribbean with other domestic departures.

Carnival Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean International released timetables for their return to storm-damaged islands in the Caribbean.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises said Cuba will be featured on six itineraries in its 2018-19 Caribbean season. The Seven Seas Mariner, Voyager and Navigator will be doing Cuba calls.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, says the Port of Falmouth in Trelawny is poised to become a model regional cruise shipping destination, noting that this augurs well for Jamaica’s industry to exponentially record additional growth.
