With demand to see Cuba still hot, Royal Caribbean International is extending its commitment to sail to the island through 2019.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has released its 2017 Cruise Industry Consumer Outlook, the first of its type focusing on the insights, outlook and attitudes of travelers regarding cruising.

Azamara Club Cruises said it plans to add four more sailings from Miami to Cuba in 2018, supplementing the two now scheduled for November 2017.

Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) data show that cruise-ship visitors accounted for half of the 1,579,273 tourists who came to the island during the period, which generated record earnings of US$1 billion.

After a three-year hiatus, Royal Caribbean International will return to the legendary city of New Orleans, Louisiana with the newly announced repositioning of Vision of the Seas for the 2018-2019 winter season.

The as-yet-unnamed planned port will be the largest purpose-built cruise facility ever constructed in The Bahamas and will take inspiration from the beauty of the Bahamian people and their islands.
