Norwegian Cruise Line will launch a ‘Book Early – Cruise Happy’ promotion on 1 September allowing agents to offer guests up to $500 of free on board spending money per stateroom when booking select 2012/13 Europe itineraries.

Royal Caribbean International and Universal Orlando Resort are expanding their land-and-sea package to include Jewel of the Seas, which will seasonally homeport in Tampa starting in November.

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has made e-ticketing the new standard on all cruise tickets, following what it said was “a successful trial of e-ticket production on late bookings.”

Carnival Cruise Lines has reached an agreement with the Government of Jamaica, which will guarantee cruise ship ports in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios at least 1.2 million visitors over three years.

Costa Cruises will resume its Japan itineraries with the Aug. 26 departure of the Costa Classica from Shanghai on a four-day cruise to Fukuoka, Japan, and Cheju, South Korea. The Italian line said the decision “demonstrates Costa’s confidence in Japan’s tourism market and its support to the revitalization of the local tourism industry.” Costa has been operating cruises from China to Japan for more than five years.
