In keeping with the surge of participation in expanded onshore experiences, Crystal Cruises has increased the number of extended land adventures available with its 2007 World Cruise program. The ultra-luxury line is presenting 25 compelling one- to four-night overland trips, including 11 completely new programs in Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey.
From Casablanca to Cornwall, from the Bosporus Strait to the best of ancient Greece, Celebrity Cruises´ European itineraries in 2007 and 2008 will take guests to the broadest array of locations since the line began sailing there in 1999. Bookings opened for Celebrity´s new and expanded European season on Century, Constellation, Galaxy and Millennium, and for cruise tours in the region.
Carnival Cruise Lines has confirmed that it will be sending one of its large ´Spirit´ Class ships, the Carnival Legend, to St Kitts starting in January of 2007. This was announced Thursday by St Kitts and Nevis´ Minister of State for Tourism, Sports & Culture, Ricky Skerritt, on his return from a meeting with Carnival Cruise Line´s Vice President for Marketing & Planning, Terry Thornton.
Construction on the $37-million Erato Street Cruise Terminal should be completed by September 15, according to Port of New Orleans president and CEO Gary LaGrange. Hurricane Katrina disrupted the cruise industry in New Orleans but it´s regaining its bearings.
EasyCruise will launch a second vessel this summer, when the EasyCruiseTwo begins weekly river and canal itineraries in Holland and Belgium July 14. The 240-foot-long ship will carry 100 passengers and will be operated by a franchisee. Formerly the Frontera, the riverboat is owned and operated by Boonstra River Line and will be renovated and restructured to EasyCruise standards.
Carnival Cruise Lines´ Carnival Liberty will be deployed year-round from Port Everglades on six-day and eight-day Caribbean cruises beginning in November this year. Carnival Liberty, which currently operates seasonal six-day and eight-day voyages from Fort Lauderdale and 12-day European cruises from Rome, launches year-round service from Fort Lauderdale on November 19, following a 16-day transatlantic voyage.
