The island of Jamaica will be the backdrop for the 19th Annual Reggae Sumfest from July 17 - 23, in Jamaica’s resort capital, Montego Bay. Reggae Sumfest, is a week-long, world-renowned festival that honors reggae legends of the past while also featuring the sounds of today’s hip-hop and R&B superstars. The Jamaica Tourist Board sponsors the event, which begins with an exciting beach party on July 17 at the Aquasol Beach Park, followed by three nights of electrifying live performances at Catherine Hall, starting July 21.

Burba Hotel Network (BHN) has announced that three special country/regional session tracks will be featured at the upcoming Hotel Investment Conference Europe (Hot.E) conference. Hosted by BHN, Hot.E is scheduled for 6-8 September 2011, at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel in London.

The first international conference dedicated exclusively to the relationship between tourism and the media is to be held by UNWTO and Croatia under the title Tourism in the Headlines (Sept. 12 and 13) in Zagreb, Croatia.

Over 150 participants gathered in the City of Barcelona, Spain to learn more about and discuss actions to be taken toward mainstreaming Sustainable Tourism. With only one year in existence The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), a global organization dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism around the world, held its 2nd Annual Membership Council Meeting.

The European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) has confirmed that the 2011 edition of the European Golf Business Conference will be held at the Don Carlos Leisure Resort & Spa in Marbella, Spain. The Conference will take place from 30. November 2. December 2011. The announcement follows the recent launch of the Spanish Golf Course Owners Association (SGCOA). The first gathering of this new organization took place during the Club Managers Conference in Madrid (31. March 2. April 2011).

The First Annual Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival will take place March 15 to 18, 2012. Celebrating star chefs, wines and spirits of the Americas’ continent, Mexican gastronomy, and special guest of honor Ferran Adrià, the festival will feature some 30 events over four days, including the best that Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru have to offer in terms of talent, wineries, spirits and culture.
