Sixteen tourism operators from Punta Arenas traveled to Norway to attend the World Ecotourism Summit which that stretched from May 14 thru 17 in Oslo and was opened by Queen Sonja.

The Cayman Islands hope to bring home a number of red-hot issues to the forefront at the 9th annual Caribbean Conference for Sustainable Tourism Development that will kick off on May 24.

San Juan is the venue for the 30th annual Caribbean Tourism Conference (CTC-30), set for October 19 to 24 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. The theme of this year’s conference is “The Next Generation: Learning from the Past, Preparing for the Future.”

Initiatives dedicated to the success and growth of the Hosted Buyer program for EIBTM 2007 are already underway as the organizing authority keeps networking, education and business opportunities at the forefront for 2007 plans.

Barbara Cadet, Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson, Kalbas and Cable and Wireless Diamond Steel Orchestra will be performing at the Fond d’Or Jazz in St. Lucia on Saturday. The foreign musicians down to perform at that venue include Fuego Latino out of Trinidad and Tobago, and Tambou Combo from Haiti.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization has announced the dates and theme for its 30th Annual Caribbean Tourism Conference which will take place in Puerto Rico from October 19 to 24, with business meetings and conference sessions.
