Jose Carlos de Santiago, president and CEO of the Excellences Group, Named Honorary Member of Cuba´s Caribbean Association.
Cuba´s Caribbean Association agreed this week to name our president and CEO, Jose Carlos de Santiago, Honorary Member of this organization as a result of his unfettered support and unlimited solidarity to the advance of tourism in the region.
Cuba´s Caribbean Association is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 1928 and gathers all citizens from other nations in the region that now live in Cuba. Among its main objective, this institution focuses on the spread of the Caribbean´s cultural and historic values, the advance of solidarity and friendship among its members and states, and on the support and collaboration in a number of projects that may play a role in the development of the region´s travel industry. Cuba´s Caribbean Association maintains close ties with all Caribbean embassies stationed in Cuba.
The lovely Carmen Montilla House & Museum, a special place in which nature and artistic creation share a broad outdoor space in the heart of colonial Old Havana, provided the perfect setting for the presentation of Excellencies magazine’s special issue devoted to the 485th birthday of the Cuban capital. The ceremony was presided over by Eusebio Leal Spengler, the Havana City larger-than-life historian.
“I want to extend my appreciation to Caribbean Excellencies for having picked this lovely and gorgeous place to launch out this special issue. I think this is an exceptional issue in which tribute to the city of Havana is paid using a trove of important testimonies and values that speak volumes of the city’s architecture, its traditions, the beauty of its monuments that so much international appraisal have received over the years,” Mr. Leal said.
Havana´s Meliá Cohiba Hotel hosted Wednesday the presentation of the special issue of Cuba´s Excellencies magazine in a meeting attended by well-known Cuban athletes and top personalities. This time around, the publication is entirely devoted to Cuban sports and the island nation´s participation in the upcoming Olympic Games in Athens.
The presentation was presided over by Humberto Rodriguez, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER); Jose Ramon Fernandez, vice president of the Council of Ministers and president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, and Jose Carlos de Santiago, president and CEO of Exclusivas Latinoamericanas, publisher of the Caribbean Tourist Excellencies magazine.
Once again, the Excellences Group is having a hands-on participation in Cuba’s Tourism Convention now underway at the Plaza America Conference Center in Varadero in its 23rd edition.
Within the framework of the activities planned to celebrate the fifth birthday of Excellencies Publications, the Seminar on Global Communications: a look from southern Spain took place last February 17 at the Sanguily Theater in the School of History and Philosophy of the Havana University.
