Brazil’s Tourism Board (Embratur) named Vinicius Lummertz, a former official at the country’s Ministry of Tourism and one-time secretary of tourism for the city of Florianopolis, its president this week. Lummertz replaces Vincente Neto, who had headed the agency since March.

A woman who was assaulted on a cruise ship has filed a federal lawsuit against Holland America claiming it fails to oversee its workers and provide adequate security. The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle claims the woman had gone to bed on the night of Feb. 13, 2014, when a room service attendant attacked her after hiding in her cabin.

Intrepid has already raised $400,000 Australian dollars toward recovery efforts in its Nepal Earthquake appeal. It has been donated to the children’s charity Plan International to provide shelter, sanitation and food to more than 120,800 Nepalese people.

The Bahamas and China have signed a memorandum of understanding for air service between the two countries. The move comes months after initial talks led by Prime Minister Perry Christie on the idea. The agreement was signed by Transport Minister Glenys Martin at Christie’s office in Nassau.
