The coral reefs and gin-clear waters off the coast of Cuba offer some of the best diving in the Caribbean and some of the best-preserved reefs on earth. And if travel restrictions on U.S. tourism to Cuba are ever lifted, the remote Peninsula of Guanahacabibes could well become a popular destination for American divers.

Cuba is now the No. 1 destination for U.S. travelers to the Caribbean. OK, that’s not true. But given the warming relations between the U.S. and Cuba, including easing of travel restrictions, and recent press, it’s not as far-fetched as it seemed six months ago.

More and more travelers are using different types of mobile devices. And they aren’t just traveling around with iPhones anymore. A number of smartphones are equipped with Google’s Android platform now.

Travel photographer and writer Erika Skogg spends most of the year guiding students on photography trips with National Geographic Expeditions. She recently returned from a 10-day trip through Cuba under a people-to-people travel license, which is currently still one of the only legal ways to travel to the country for U.S. citizens.

The latest travel insights from the provider of travel intelligence ForwardKeys and the global market research firm GfK (Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung) show that the total number of Chinese tourists who intend to visit Hong Kong in the coming months of April – September, is significantly lower by almost half (48 percent), compared to the same period last year.

While findings suggest the demand for cruise travel this year is similar to previous years, with seven percent of adults saying that they had already booked or were planning to book a cruise holiday in the next 12 months, a younger bracket of travellers who holiday abroad would be tempted to go on a cruise, even though they haven’t been on one to date.
