VacationRoost has launched its new Mexican Destinations website, www.mexicandestinations.com. The updated site includes a new layout and look but features the same luxury villas, condos and vacation homes that customers have come to expect from Mexican Destinations over the last 20 years.

Expedia, Inc. announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Mobiata, creator of mobile travel applications including FlightTrack. The deal marks Expedia’s most significant investment to date in addressing the mobile travel market, and accelerates the company’s ability to enable mobile travel shopping and booking across multiple platforms.

Gogobot, founded by Travis Katz and Ori Zaltzman in Menlo Park, California, has launched in private beta. Gogobot’s mission is to make trip planning more fun by making it easy to connect and share travel advice with friends. Gogobot connects users with friends and people like them for travel advice and links the advice they give in real-time with maps, pictures, pricing and descriptions.

Accor has chosen to partner with TripAdvisor to collect reviews from travelers after they return from their stay, thus taking advantage of TripAdvisor’s experience in collecting and moderating user-generated content.

Priceline.com announced the availability of its Hotel Negotiator hotel room booking app for Android devices. The iPhone-compatible version of Hotel Negotiator, which was released in 2009, is one of the most popular free travel apps on the App Store. The Hotel Negotiator app for Android features the Priceline Negotiator (William Shatner) and lets travelers use their Android devices to quickly find and book last-minute hotel rooms using priceline.com’s Name Your Own Price hotel service.

Orbitz has launched the first native application for the iPhone and Android mobile devices allowing customers to shop and book a broad selection of air, car rental and hotel options. In addition, the company announced the launch of a next generation mobile website (http://m.orbitz.com/) that enables consumers to access Orbitz from any web-enabled mobile phone.
