Travel Channel International, the largest pan-European TV channel dedicated to travel and World Travel Market, which is expecting a record event when it opens its doors at ExCeL London in November, have linked up on two major projects.
The two international brands will be working together to produce a 30-minute program to capture the color and excitement of the event as well as news, trends, developments, expert opinion and VIP’s at World Travel Market.
World Travel Market 2005 was the largest ever. This year saw its fourth consecutive increase in exhibitor space of more than 4 percent increase.
A total of 5,194 national tourist offices, industry organizations, tour operators, hotels, cruise lines, airlines, other transport operators and technology companies from 202 representative countries and regions attended. This included 126 new exhibitors.
ITTFA, the International Tourism Trade Fairs Association, announced the launch of its newly designed website at World Travel Market.
This new site reflects the recent changes in the Association and its move from European to International status earlier this year.
Cuba made a strong turnout at the World Travel Market in London, one of the world´s biggest travel and tourism tradeshows.
The event gathered some 45,000 professionals and over 5,000 exhibitors from 202 countries, with a hefty presence jailing from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Amid great expectations, former top runway girl Claudia Schiffer added some glamour to the recently concluded World Travel Market in London, drawing looks and turning necks to the Balearic Islands´ stand.
With a broad smile, Mrs. Schiffer went to WTM 2005 as the ambassadress of the Spanish archipelago in an effort to promote the Majorca Golf Classic Tournament scheduled to take place next year in that Spanish enclave.
Representatives of Cape Town and the Western Cape´s destination marketing body, Cape Town Routes Unlimited, participated in the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, showcasing the best of the region to visitors from all over the world.
WTM attracted over 45,000 visitors who were exposed to displays by countries, regions, service providers, airlines and more. Cape Town Routes Unlimited´s display was showcased under the umbrella of the South African Tourism stand.
