Flight delays reported due to California floods

Severe storms in California are causing delays in air and ground transportation during one of the busiest weeks of the year. While not yet permanent, heavy rain and strong winds have led to disruptions at several major airports in the state.

The San Francisco and Los Angeles international airports have been reporting delays since a flood warning was issued on December 20, affecting coastal areas in particular.

In mountainous regions, snow accumulation has also prompted warnings to local and visiting climbers about dangerous conditions, along with potential power outages while the storm continues.

The California Department of Transportation urges residents and tourists to avoid non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Experts note that such heavy rainfall at this time of year is unusual and linked to climate change.

Transport services are expected to return to normal in the coming days, but travelers are advised to take precautions and remain patient with both air and ground travel.
