Baja California Boosts Local Tourism with All-Inclusive Travel Packages
The Baja California Tourism Secretariat has introduced a new version of its social tourism program, Corazones Viajeros, designed to give state residents access to all-inclusive travel experiences at top local destinations. With a subsidy of $1,500 MXN per person, the packages include round-trip transportation, accommodation, travel insurance, a tour guide, and recreational activities.
The program offers two-day, one-night itineraries with routes covering Valle de Guadalupe, Tecate, San Felipe, and more. Activities vary by destination and include visits to wineries, museums, eco-tourism parks, and archaeological sites, making tourism more inclusive and sustainable.
Tourism Secretary Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez emphasized that the program, spearheaded by Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, aims to strengthen community identity while promoting accessibility and sustainability. Corazones Viajeros also features fully subsidized 8-hour excursions, allowing Baja California residents to enjoy tourism experiences at no cost.
Notable routes include Sabores y Raíces in Valle de Guadalupe, Kumiai in Tecate, and options like Disfruta San Felipe and Aventura y Sabor San Felipe. These initiatives bring the state’s rich cultural and natural heritage closer to its residents, encouraging local tourism in an affordable and accessible way.
The program's positive impact has earned international recognition, with a nomination for the ISTO Awards 2024 by the International Social Tourism Organization, establishing Baja California as a leader in social and accessible tourism initiatives.
