FITUR and IMPULSA IGUALDAD have announced the creation of the ‘Guide to Best Practices in Accessibility’ in the tourism sector. This initiative is part of the second edition of FITUR 4all, aimed at making tourist destinations and services accessible to people with special needs.

The Guide will highlight accessible projects carried out in 2023 and 2024, evaluating their impact, potential, and replicability. The goal is to promote a more inclusive tourism industry that recognizes the diversity of travelers by showcasing the latest trends and best practices in accessibility.

The II FITUR 4all Awards are now open for submissions from destinations, companies, and institutions presenting their accessibility projects. The awards will be granted in four categories: Inclusive National Destination, Inclusive International Destination, Inclusive Tourism Company, and Inclusive Organization or Institution. Criteria include innovation, positive impact, sustainability, and sectoral and social awareness.

A jury of experts in tourism, accessibility, and inclusion will announce the winners before the 45th edition of FITUR. The awards will be presented from January 22 to 26, 2025, at IFEMA MADRID.

The II FITUR 4all Awards and the Guide to Best Practices in Accessibility will be complemented by specialized sessions during FITUR 2025, discussing the challenges and benefits of inclusive tourism. These initiatives reflect the commitment of FITUR and IMPULSA IGUALDAD to developing an accessible and high-quality tourism sector.
