Daewoo, Greek Owner Reported to Talk about $600 Million Cruise Liner

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, South Korea’s third-largest shipbuilder is reported to be close to winning its first order to build a cruise ship. The shipbuilder is in talks with an unnamed Greek company over the deal, estimated at $600 million.

Last month, Samsung signed an initial contract with a US based company called Utopia Residences to build a new type of cruise ship at a cost of $1.1 billion, making it the first south Korean yard to enter the cruise liner sector.
