Frontier Airlines has announced its upcoming move to the newly constructed Terminal 6 (T6) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), set to open in 2026. The decision, made in partnership with JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), makes Frontier the 13th airline to confirm its operations at T6, joining carriers such as Air Canada, Lufthansa, Cathay Pacific, and JetBlue Airways.

Terminal 6 is a key part of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey's $19 billion transformation project aimed at modernizing JFK into a world-class international hub. The facility will feature state-of-the-art technology, streamlined security processes, and an enhanced passenger experience, including a digital-first design, self-service bag drop, and biometric-enabled check-in systems. Additionally, travelers will enjoy 100,000 square feet of NYC-inspired shopping, dining, and lounges.

Frontier, known for its ultra-low fares and fuel-efficient A320neo fleet, has been expanding its presence at JFK since launching its first-ever flights from the airport’s Terminal 7 in June 2024. Currently operating six daily flights to major destinations such as Atlanta, Orlando, Las Vegas, Tampa, and San Juan, the airline plans to increase its service with new nonstop routes to Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Los Angeles in the coming months.

JFK Millennium Partners CEO Steve Thody expressed enthusiasm about the airline’s transition, emphasizing that Frontier passengers will experience a boutique, high-tech travel environment. Similarly, Matthew Sattler, Director of Airport Planning and Facilities at Frontier Airlines, highlighted T6’s modern design, technological advancements, and passenger-friendly amenities as key benefits for travelers.

With its move to Terminal 6 in 2026, Frontier is set to enhance its JFK operations further, benefiting from a more efficient and passenger-friendly environment while continuing to provide affordable travel options for its customers.
