Apollo Users Get Upgraded Southwest Connectivity

U.S. travel agents using the Apollo GDS now have enhanced booking capabilities for Southwest Airlines, said Travelport GDS, owner of the Apollo system.

Southwest now automatically returns the ticket number with each booking made in Apollo, a key productivity enhancement for reporting and reconciliation. Also, Apollo users now have the ability to enter the frequent-flyer numbers of Southwest customers.

Travelport said both booking enhancements are unavailable on any other GDS. Apollo added Southwest fares to its system in November 2007.
