Canada’s Low-Cost Airline Commences Flights to Cuba

Air Canada Rouge, a budget tour operator owned by the Canadian flag carrier, began operations into Cuba on Saturday with a flight from Toronto to Jardines del Rey.
Manuel Yánez, local representative of Canada Vacances, told the press that the new itinerary responds to a strategy of expansion and to the purchasing of four airplanes, two of which will fly to the Caribbean and the rest to Europe.
A total of 139 passengers flew on Saturday to Cayo Coco, including 135 students who, for a decade now, have been visiting the region during their vacations.
Mercedes Abreu, president of Cubanacán, said that her travel agency will be in charge of receiving these weekly flights.
