CHA calls on regional media to bolster sustainable tourism

The Caribbean Hotels Association (CHA) urged the region’s media organizations to keep the proposed creation of the Caribbean Sustainable Tourism Fund in their above-the-fold headlines and primetime news in an effort to both let this industry continue its socioeconomic development and help preserve the regional environment.

In recent remarks prior to the Fifth Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEX), scheduled for Dec. 4 to 8 in Barbados, CHA director-general Alec Sanguinetti suggested this topic should not let off steam. “Otherwise,” he said, “the Caribbean will lose a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
