CHA on two fronts
The Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) is calling its members to implement policies that could protect those visitors whose travel packages have been canceled or they are stranded in the Caribbean as a result of the U.S. war against Iraq.
In the same breath, the association is piecing together PR contingency plans in an effort to downplay war’s negative impact on the Caribbean’s tourist industry. CHA officials are going at great lengths to highlight the blessings of the region in the middle of this political storm, such as the geographical proximity to the U.S., safety, security and an assorted offer for traveling families.
As part of the plan, the CHA headquarters have added a new section to its official website (www.caribbeanhotels.org) to serve as a chat room and information exchange tool for all its members.
