Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Education Foundation (CHTAEF) Chairman, Tom Pas, announced today the launch of the 2010 Scholarship Application Process. “We are delighted to be 100% electronic this year,” said Pas.
“Our info-sheets and applications forms are downloadable at www.chtaeducationfoundation.com, and we will only be accepting electronic or faxed applications up to March 12, 2010, when the application process closes,” he noted.

Pas was very happy that the CHTAEF corporate scholarship sponsors remain committed and enthusiastic about the work of the Foundation and the opportunities offered to young Caribbean national. He particularly applauded long-standing relationships with Virgin Holidays, Interval International, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, FirstCaribbean International Bank and Johnson & Wales University.
Pas commended new commitments from Yucatan Holidays, Schiller University, University of Memphis & the Caribbean Foundation.
“Without support from our corporate partners and generous donations from our hospitality partners, the CHTAEF would be limited in its scholarship offering,” noted Pas.
“This year we have broadened our horizon and very much hope to attract strong applications from all levels of professionals within our industry,” he added.
The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Education Foundation (CHTAEF) was established in 1987 as a stand-alone non-profit / tax-exempt organization, through which scholarships and special assistance would be made available for the education of Caribbean hotel industry personnel and students pursuing careers in tourism. As part of its mission, the Education Foundation provides people throughout the Caribbean region with an awareness of the industry's varied career opportunities, as well as technical and professional development. Since 1987, the Education Foundation has awarded more than US$1 million in scholarships and grants to applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospitality and tourism industry.
