CTO’s Caribbean Week Headed Back to New York
Caribbean Week in New York will return to New York in June. The once-annual New York event, hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization, was scratched last June in favor of the first annual business-focused Caribbean Tourism Summit, which took place in Washington. Both events now will be held back-to-back in early June 2009, with dates still to be determined.
Tentative programming for Caribbean Week in New York, running from Wednesday to Saturday, will feature a Caribbean fair; a Caribbean marketing conference and trade show; travel agent workshops; a media marketplace; town hall meetings; a Rum & Rhythm celebration; and the Governments of the Caribbean ball.
The 2nd Annual Caribbean Tourism Summit will immediately follow the New York event, from Sunday to Tuesday in Washington. The summit will include meetings on Capitol Hill between Caribbean ministers and U.S. lawmakers.
