Dominican Hoteliers Urge Independent Competitors to Attend Berlin’s ITB 2008

Hoteliers and restaurateurs grouped in ASONAHORES and the Tourism Promotion Council (CPT) are urging the tourism industry’s independent hotels and companies to take part in the stand of the Dominican delegation in the Berlin Tourism Fair 2008, from March 5 to 9, with Dominican Republic as this year’s “Officially Invited Country.”

ASONAHORES executive vice president Arturo Villanueva said it’s a great opportunity to call the world tourism market’s attention towards Dominican Republic, and the importance that all companies in the industry join this project, even the large chains, tourist airlines and conglomerates which regularly occupy large spaces to promote their hotels.

He said the Tourism Ministry makes an effort to take advantage of this fair and that the association organizes the private sector participation, headed by ASONAHORES marketing director Thelma Martinez.

Villanueva said as “Officially Invited Country,” Dominican Republic must take advantage of the attention it will get, and reiterated that the local tourism industry must take part.
