Fairmont’s Barbados resorts welcome new GM

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger Soane as general manager, The Fairmont Royal Pavilion and The Fairmont Glitter Bay. Soane, formerly the general manager of Calgary’s Fairmont Palliser Hotel, has complete responsibility for the day to day operations of both properties.

Bringing over 20 years of hospitality experience to the position, Soane’s first project will be overseeing a $10 million renovation program at The Fairmont Royal Pavilion. According to Fairmont’s Executive Vice President, Operations, John Williams, Soane is the perfect candidate for the job.

“Roger is an experienced hotel manager with extraordinary leadership and operating abilities. His vast knowledge of our industry and ability to work closely and connect with the staff are valuable assets which will benefit both Fairmont and the hotels.”

A graduate of London’s Westminster Hotel College, Soane’s past experience includes high level positions with Pan Pacific hotels in Bangladesh, Malaysia and Vancouver, The Fairmont Banff Springs and The Fairmont Empress in Victoria.
