IPW 2016 Gets Going in New Orleans

To the beat of local bands and a typical American brunch, the 2016 edition of the International Pow Wow kicked off at the Orpheum Theater in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Attendees and members of the press, including Caribbean News Digital, were welcomed by Louisiana’s Lieutenant Gov. Billy Nungesser; Roger Daw, president and director general of Travel USA; Stephen Perry, president and CEO of the New Orleans Office of Visitors and Conventions, and Brand USA’s president Chris Thompson.

For this year’s edition, organizers expect to gather over 6,000 professionals that could generate a business volume of approximately $4.7 billion for as many as 8.8 million foreign visitors coming to the U.S.

“We’re very happy to welcome this edition of IPW in our city, which is constantly growing. We want to experience the culture, the gastronomy, the music and the chance to discover everything New Orleans has to offer,” Mr. Perry said.

Considered one of the world’s largest tradeshows, IPW 2016 will come to a close on Jun 22 with a number of collateral to-dos and one-on-one meetings between buyers and supplies from some 70 countries.
