IPW Travel Trade Show Names Host Cities through 2024
The U.S. Travel Association has named four future host cities for its annual IPW trade show, securing locations for the event through 2024, it announced today. The new host cities are Chicago, which will host IPW for the fourth time in 2021; Orlando, which will host IPW for a record eighth time in 2022; San Antonio, TX, which will host IPW for the first time in 2023; and Los Angeles, which will host IPW for the sixth time in 2024.
"The next four IPW host cities mix East and West Coast, and first-time hosts with old favorites we're excited to see again," said U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow.
An international tourism marketplace designed to generate domestic and international tourism to the United States, IPW -- formerly known as International Pow Wow -- is responsible for bringing nearly a million extra international visitors and $1.7 billion in international tourism spending to recent host cities, according to independent research firm Rockport Analytics, not to mention 8.8 million international visitors and $28 billion in international tourism spending to the U.S. economy overall.
First-time IPW host San Antonio celebrated the U.S. Travel Association's announcement. "We're excited to bring the largest generator of inbound travel to one of America's most remarkable and popular destinations. This will truly be a game-changer for San Antonio," said Casandra Matej, executive director of the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau. "San Antonio is working towards becoming one of the most desired destinations for international travel. IPW, which attracts more than 500 international journalists a year, provides the kind of invaluable showcase that will lift San Antonio to another level on the world stage."
Previously announced IPW host cities include New Orleans, which will host IPW in 2016; Washington, DC, which will host IPW in 2017; Denver, which will host IPW in 2018; Anaheim, CA, which will host IPW in 2019; and Las Vegas, which will host IPW in 2020. This year's IPW concludes today in Orlando.
