JetBlue Keeps Growing in Caribbean Using New Airline Partnerships

JetBlue Airways announced interline agreements with Caribbean air carriers LIAT and Seaborne Airlines, along with an expansion of its partnership with Cape Air, through which the company will launch an expanded Caribbean winter schedule.
The partnership will result in five new Jet Blue Caribbean routes to launch in the coming months, including flights between Chicago and San Juan (launching Nov. 20); Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Port-au-Prince, Haiti (beginning Dec. 5); Fort Lauderdale to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago (beginning May 1); New York to Port-au-Prince (starting Dec. 5); and New York to Port of Spain (starting Feb. 24, 2014).
In addition, flights between Bridgetown, Barbados; Nassau, Bahamas; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Santiago and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and New York will use larger A321 aircraft, and JetBlue will offer more frequencies between New York and Barbados during peak holiday times.
JetBlue’s agreement with LIAT provides the airline’s passengers with connections to destinations including Antigua, Grenada, St. Kitts, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines when transferring at Barbados and St. Maarten.
The partnership with Seaborne gives JetBlue customer access to St. Kitts, Dominica, Guadeloupe and Martinique via San Juan, and daily connections to La Romana, Dominican Republic. JetBlue's partnership with Cape Air also will expand with this winter, with new destinations available via San Juan: Culebra, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands to nine Caribbean destinations.
