Karen Ford-Warner Resigns as CTO Secretary General

Adducing family problems, Jamaica-born Karen Ford-Warner has resigned as acting secretary general of the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Her resignation will be effective on May 10th.

Ford-Warner, who has been holding the leading post since the retirement last September of Jean Holder, joined CTO as deputy secretary general in January 1999.

Prior to that, she was the chief advisor to Jamaica´s minister of tourism and is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, the Norman Manley Law School and Harvard´s Radcliffe College.

Ms Ford-Warner plans to return to Jamaica from Barbados to spend more time with her children. CTO has not yet named Ford-Warner´s replacement or selected a new secretary general to replace Holder.
