March 15th, last day for media applications for CMEx
Caribbean and international journalists have until March 15 to qualify for fellowships to attend the sixth Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEx VI) slated for Rodney Bay, St. Lucia, June 24-28, 2004.
Journalists interested in attending CMEx, an initiative of the development organisation Counterpart International which seeks to increase the input of the media in the design of sustainable tourism policies, can apply at: <b>www.caribbeanmediaexchange.com/downloads</b> .
All applicants should be staffers or freelance journalists for the news or editorial departments of newspapers, magazines, wire services, radio, television or online publications. Photojournalists, columnists and broadcast producers also are eligible.
Applications should be accompanied by two or more written examples of work relating to tourism or sustainable development issues published or aired between December 1, 2003 and March 14, 2004. Broadcast media need only submit one copy of their work – transcripts are welcome. All accompanying stories will automatically be entered for the CMEx journalism awards. Applicants should submit a 250 - 500 word statement describing what they expect to contribute to, and gain from CMEx VI.
