Orbitz.com Launches “Total Price” Hotel Search Results

Orbitz.com announced the launch of Total Price hotel search results. Orbitz claimed it is now the only major online travel company to show base rate, taxes and fees, and total price per night upfront on the initial search results page.

Competitors only show base rates on their initial search results pages making it impossible for consumers to see the total price they will pay until after they have selected their hotel. Orbitz also launched the “Hotel Fee Cut” promotion, drastically cutting booking fees on all of its hotels around the world for rooms booked by July 15.

The introduction of hotel Total Price and the hotel booking fee cut promotion comes on the heels of the recent launch of the Orbitz “Biggest Hotel Sale Ever,” featuring discounts of 30 percent or more at thousands of properties worldwide through May 31.
