PASS Consulting Corporation, which provides end-to-end technology and professional services for the travel industry, has announced that it has augmented its business relationship with Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) by installing a Center of Excellence on ARC premises.

ARC benefits from the sophisticated PASS Virtual Software Factory (VSF), which allows for more than 80 percent of the code to be generated on basis of templates and proofed models.

Manufacturing cars in an assembly line has been a standard for years in the automotive industry. But even for software suppliers and IT-shops industrial methods sound very promising, modern code-generators work based on the Model Driven Development (MDD) and Model Driven Architecture (MDA) principles to further automate the development of applications.

Unlike a human programmer, code generators always adhere to preset coding policies; architecture and components are already precisely defined in advance. An essential part of MDA-driven concepts is the use of abstract models.

Although they merely represent the functional core of an application, no particular language or architecture is required. Highly automated processes, standardization and the modular structure of the Virtual Software Factory ensure the productivity and quality of its developments, while guaranteeing lower costs and shorter project running times.

ARC Memo Manager is a web-based product that automates and improves the current memo distribution and settlement process for both carriers and agencies. The ARC Memo Manager provides an easy way for carriers and travel professionals to electronically process and settle memos.

This one-stop application allows processing of both debit and credit memos, two-way communication, and electronic payment. Data is housed in a secure central repository where it remains available for review within ARC Memo Manager for 39 months.
