Qatar Airways to Unveil Exhibition Stand at ITB 2006
Qatar Airways will be exhibiting at the world’s biggest travel fair in Berlin with its largest-ever presence at the international trade show. ITB Berlin attracts the cream of the top of the global travel industry, from airlines, hotels, car rental companies and tourist boards to travel agents, tour operators and media from around the world.
Qatar Airways will have a two-tier steel and glass stand structure with an exhibition area measuring 200 square maters –twice the size of last year – at the five-day show. The design concept reflects the theme of New Doha International Airport which is due to open in 2009.
The ceiling of the exhibition stand has a dramatic wavy structure, mirroring the design of the new airport that takes it inspiration from the sea as the facility is being built on reclaimed land from the Arabian Gulf.
There will also be angled glass walls to reflect large volumes of space. The upper floor features a bar and a VIP meeting area with plenty of hospitality space.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker will be heading a delegation of officials from the airline’s corporate headquarters in Doha to ITB. “As the biggest operator of flights to and from the New Doha International Airport, Qatar Airways will also be displaying a brand new model of the new facility which opens in just three years’ time,” he said.
“ITB has always been very special for Qatar Airways. Over the years we have used the occasion to showcase our latest products, announce our newest routes and present our superb Arabic hospitality. This year will be very different. We have an exciting new exhibition stand that is very creative and will, I am sure, grab the attention of thousands of visitors expected at ITB. We are also very proud to unveil a brand new initiative that will undoubtedly set the standards in the global aviation industry.”
