Taiwan on Show at Biggest Travel Fair in Latin America

Taiwan is seeking to promote itself for the first time at the 2014 WTM Latin America international travel fair in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Taiwan's representative to Brazil, Shyu Guang-pu, said that exchanges between Taiwan and Brazil have been going well. He said both sides believe that they can benefit from further development of the tourism sector.
Taiwan Tourism Bureau's director in Los Angeles, Trust Lin, said that Brazil is Taiwan's biggest market for tourism in South America. Lin said about 4,000 Brazilians visited Taiwan last year and that number continues to grow.
The tourism bureau said the main purpose for participating in the fair is to enhance the visibility of Taiwan's tourism. The bureau said it hopes that other countries will include Taiwan in their Asia travel packages.
The travel fair is the largest and the most important in Latin America. More than 60 countries are represented at the three-day event.
