Tech Companies Collaborate on Hotel Commission-Tracker

TravelClick and Worldwide Payment Systems have teamed up to offer a commission-tracking system, with the expectation of increasing and speeding up commission payments to travel agencies booking hotels in the GDSs.

The partners said the service includes automated payment processing, tracking, reconciliation and billing for agents’ commission payments through TravelClick’s iHotelier reservation system.

The interface allows TravelClick’s hotel customers to have full control of the commission-payment process through Worldwide Payment’s web-based portal, the partners added. More than 80 percent of the payments are made electronically.

Worldwide Payment CEO Pedro Fernandez-Salvador said that hotels using the company’s payment service see their GDS bookings increase after commission processing is automated.

TravelClick is a technology company specializing in hotel e-commerce solutions, and Wordwide Payment is a payment-processing company in the travel industry.
