TripIt, LinkedIn Roll Out New Social Travel Service

TripIt’s My Travel application has been officially launched on LinkedIn. According to TripIt, the new application on LinkedIn is directly connected to users’ TripIt account.

The application lets users see where and when their LinkedIn network is traveling. It generates closeness alerts for a user’s LinkedIn colleagues, so that a user can connect with them while on the road, while colleagues are on the road, or when a user is attending the same industry event.

My Travel also displays a user’s current location, upcoming trips and travel stats on LinkedIn profile. Courtyard by Marriott is reportedly sponsoring the new “My Travel” application developed by TripIt, Inc. on LinkedIn. Online ads for Courtyard will appear within the TripIt My Travel application.
