Youtravel.com Inks Agreement with Travelport

Accommodations-only specialist youtravel.com has signed a pan-European deal with Travelport GDS to distribute its extensive beach hotel content to users of the Galileo Leisure portal.

The content will be available from Feb. 19, 2009. Initially the new content will be made available in the U.K., France and Italy with plans to roll it out to Galileo Leisure users in further markets in Europe and the Middle East over the coming months.

Galileo Leisure users will be able to make, cancel and amend bookings online as well as make full use of all the youtravel.com services including in-resort representation and pre and post-departure customer services.

In its second year of trading, to October 2008, youtravel.com’s group sales reached just under 500,000 heads, twice the number carried in its first year and turnover up 60 percent to 110 million euros, up from 70 million euros in its first year. Youtravel.com has operations in the U.K., Germany, Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Norway, France and through a partnership deal in China.
